PALS October 2016 - Caregiver Reaction Upon Diagnosis

PALS Meeting Minutes

October 26, 2016 6:30 p.m.

Lauri Ann West Community Library

1212 Main Street Pittsburgh, PA 15211

Utilizing the articles below we took a look at our own initial reaction to our child's diagnosis and how we moved forward. Everyone's story is different but one thing we all had in common is the idea that although we can easily shift from one "stage" to another, our emotions are not linear. For instance just as our child's needs change through time so do our emotions, our reaction to those changes.

Even if it's been awhile since you have felt guilt, anger, sadness, or denial regarding your child's diagnosis, these articles will be a nice reminder of how far you have come.
