OPEN FORUM
Open Forum is an opportunity for participants to come together and discuss a variety of topics, offer resources, and ask questions related to special education and supporting family members with different abilities.
Does your child have trouble with reading, writing, attention, or organization? Is school a daily struggle? Do you have questions about the special education process? Are you struggling with the implementation of your child’s I.E.P.? Do you need additional resources or help for your child? Whether your child is in pre-school, elementary, middle school, high school, or recently transitioned, we invite you to attend PALS meetings. We provide resources and opportunities to speak with other parents who listen, discuss, and lend support about learning issues related to your child's educational needs.
PALS shares notices from multiple resources including PEAL CENTER, Autism Connection of Pennsylvania, evolve, Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania, TRY, OPEN, Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council, Achieva, Family Link, The Arc, LTF3, Epilepsy Association of Western Pennsylvania, and many other organizations that you can find on our Resources Page.
Please note, although a resource may be presented by an organization supporting a need your family does not have, the presentation may actually be of interest to you and helpful. We encourage you to look beyond the label. For instance, ADDitudes offer many virtual webinars that families outside the scope of ADD/ADHD may find beneficial.
